Man’s body found in woods in Paxton now investigated as a homicide

PAXTON, Mass. — The body of a 29-year-old Worcester man found in the woods in Paxton on Saturday is now being investigated as a homicide.

The Worcester County District Attorney’s Office have identified Ernest A. Appiah as the deceased party. His body was discovered just before 7:00 a.m. on March 5th about 25 feet into the wooded area off of Asnebumskit Road.

Anyone with information is asked to call the State Police Detectives assigned to the Worcester DA’s Office at 508-832-9124.

The investigation remains ongoing with the assistance of the Paxton Police Department.  State Police Crime Scene Services and Crime Lab, State Police K-9 Unit, and the State Police Special Emergency Response Team (SERT) also assisted with the investigation.
