WALTHAM, Mass. — A 61-year-old man died following a Saturday night stabbing in Waltham, according to the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office. The 61-year-old was identified on Sunday as Kevin Fitzgerald.
The stabbing happened at Fitzgerald’s residence on Alder Street around 9:00 p.m. Saturday. He apparently called Waltham Police via 911 to report the stabbing, telling police that he did not recognize who his attacker was. He was transported to Newton-Wellesley Hospital where he died from his injuries.

According to the Middlesex DA’s Office, the person responsible may have been in the area shortly before the attack happened.
“I just hope that the person who stabbed the other person – that the culprit is caught,” one neighbor told Boston 25 News.
“I saw the many cops on the street, they closed the area,” explained neighbor Oscar Pachola, who also described seeing K-9s canvass the area.
The fatal stabbing is being investigated, “as a suspicious death,” the DA’s office said. Anyone with any information about this fatal stabbing is asked to contact the Waltham Police Detective Division at 781-314-3550.
