MASHPEE, Mass. — A 26-year-old Mashpee man is facing murder charges in connection with his mother’s death.
According to Cape & Islands DA Michael O’Keefe, Mashpee Police were called to a home on Wampanoag Drive in Mashpee just after 11 a.m. Friday. Responding units found 26-year-old Andrew Baily “acting erratically.” Police entered the home where they found his mother, 60-year-old Cheryl Crowell, unresponsive in a bedroom.
Crowell was taken to Falmouth Hospital where she died.
Baily was taken into custody and has been charged with murder, strangulation, and assault and battery.
He will be arraigned next week.
