BOSTON — Two Boston firefighters were injured when a ceiling collapsed while battling a raging fire at a triple-decker in the city’s Jamaica Plain neighborhood on Wednesday morning.
According to the Boston Fire Department, crews responded to a three-alarm blaze at a home on Wyman Street around 4:45 a.m.
Upon arrival, firefighters were greeted by heavy fire in the rear of the home’s porch.
The fire spread to 100 Wyman, but crews were able to prevent heavy damage to that building.
The department’s deputy fire chief confirmed that the ceiling of the building collapsed onto two firefighters. One was taken to the hospital as a precaution, and another continued fighting the fire.
All residents escaped, with one person taken to the hospital. 13 people in total, including two children, were displaced.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
