MEDFORD, Mass — A woman’s drive to work was cut short Thursday morning by a furry hitchhiker.
While she was preparing for her morning commute, a cat ran across the street and jumped into her wheel well. The woman then pulled over to call the fire department.
Catastrophe was avoided when firefighters were able to extract the cat stuck inside the suspension.
Medford police told Boston 25 News crews had to take the wheel off the car to rescue the cat.
The cat was cradled in a blanket before taking it to a nearby Petco to get checked out. The Petco veterinarian says the cat was unharmed.
The feline is now in the care of Everett Animal Control.
This is a developing story. Check back for updates as more information becomes available.
