CHELSEA, Mass. — A driver who had a one-year-old baby in the car was shot at several times in Chelsea, officials say.

At the scene, officials found a man who had sustained a non-fatal wound.

State Police are actively investigating this incident.

As officials investigated the area, the southbound side of Route 1 in that area and the Carter Street ramp had to be closed down for a period of time. The roadway and ramp have since been reopened.

According to the Chelsea Police Department, this whole incident may have started after words were exchanged in Saugus.
