BROCKTON, Mass. — Brockton Police have released surveillance video of a November carjacking in the hopes of identifying the suspects involved.

The video shows two men walking by a Chevy Malibu on Court Street around 4 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 10. A few minutes later, the men walk back, but faster, and with hoods on.

The victim, Marian Grindstaff, had been sitting in her car smoking a cigarette, thinking nothing of it.

After the struggle, the suspects speed off in her car, while she tries to hold on to the door.

The men are then seen approaching the car and ordering the 50-year-old woman out. When Grindstaff doesn’t comply, they pull her out of the car and throw her to the ground.

Grindstaff says she was surprised no one stopped to help her on this usually very busy street. What’s more impressive to her, however, is that its been over two months and her car still hasn’t been found.

“It’s just really mind-boggling that they have not found my car,” said Grindstaff. “It was a struggle, I had my arm in the steering wheel and I was beeping a lot and a lot of cars they just kept going.”

In the surveillance video, at least four cars are seen driving by during the assault. A neighbor tried to intervene but one of the suspects said he had a gun.

“And the guy in the passenger seat beside me said, ‘I’ll shoot you,’” said Grindstaff.

“When I see that I can’t believe it, but the reality I say, ‘Oh my goodness, we have to be careful,’” said Rodney Romulus, a neighbor.

Neighbors say they’re still trying to wrap their heads around what happened.

“You always find the car first right?” said Brockton Police Officer Darren Duarte. “Well we haven’t even gotten the car yet, although we have had some leads but they haven’t panned out, so we’re asking for the public’s help.”

That’s why police are releasing the surveillance video in hopes someone will be able to recognize the suspects so Grindstaff can get her car back and some justice.

“I hope and pray to God I get to see them again,” said Grindstaff.

Grindstaff says she’s had to take the bus for the last couple of months since losing her car.
