BOSTON — A Boston Police sergeant has been arrested and charged with assault and battery, the Norfolk County DA’s Office confirmed to Boston 25 News. That officer, identified as Sergeant Brian Dunford, has been placed on administrative leave.
Dunford was released without having to post bail. The victim in the case is a minor he knows.
Dunford appeared in Quincy District Court Tuesday to be arraigned on the charges, which stem from an incident in December 2020. He was ordered to stay away from his wife and kids.
