BOSTON — An 18-year-old has been charged with murder after a fatal shooting that left a 17-year-old dead in Dorchester on Friday night, police said.
Juan Nazario, 18, of Dorchester, also faces charges of unlawful possession of a firearm and unlawful possession of ammunition.
Shortly before 7 p.m. Friday, Boston Police responded to a call for shots fired in the area of 29 Ferndale St. in Dorchester.
While on scene, officers learned that a possible suspect vehicle had fled the scene before they arrived. Police later found that vehicle in Quincy.
Meanwhile, in Dorchester, police found the victim suffering from apparent gunshot wounds inside a vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Boston Police Homicide Unit is investigating the murder, along with the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office, the Norfolk County District Attorney’s Office and members of the Massachusetts State Police and the Quincy Police Department.
Nazario will appear in Dorchester District Court to face the charges at a later date.
