Boston Common Frog Pond opens for winter season next week

The Boston Common Frog Pond will open for the winter season for ice skating on November 21, at 10 a.m.

The Frog Pond, managed by The Skating Club of Boston, is located in one of the oldest parks in the U.S. and is rated one of the top places for ice skating in the country.

The rink will be open daily at 10 a.m. for skating and lessons taught by The Skating Club of Boston’s Skating Academy.

On top of normal ice skating, the Frog Pond will hold annual skating spectaculars on December 1, and December 31.

The Tree Lighting Skating Spectacular, on December 1, will be headlined by Olympian Ashley Wagner. The Boston Common Tree Lighting will be right after at 6 p.m.

The New Year’s Eve Skating Spectacular will take place on December 31.

“Skating on the Boston Common Frog Pond is an iconic part of winter in Boston and we’re happy to have the original rink back this year,” said Doug Zeghibe, CEO & Executive Director of The Skating Club of Boston. “We’re excited to welcome back Bostonians and visitors from around the country to one of the most beautiful outdoor rinks in the country.”
