As the Animal Rescue League of Boston prepares to take in dogs displaced by the devastating Los Angeles wildfires, the nonprofit is hoping to make space this weekend.
All adoption fees at the ARL’s Boston, Dedham and Brewster adoption centers will be reduced by $100 this weekend to hopefully empty shelters as much as possible.
Next week, the dogs will be down to Delaware before making the nearly 500-mile trip to Massachusetts.
“The devastation and impact of the fires still burning in Los Angeles is unprecedented, and ARL is proud to be a part of a massive relocation effort to find homes for these animals, which will also create much-needed kennel space in L.A. shelters for animals who have been displaced or injured due to the fires,” the Animal Rescue League said in a statement.
This is a developing story. Check back for updates as more information becomes available.
