QUINCY, Mass. — Black bears continue to make their presence known across the Commonwealth, with the latest sighting in the City of Presidents.
Quincy Police Officer Jimmy Dalton encountered the bear in a wooded area behind BJ’s Wholesale Club on Crown Colony Drive late Tuesday night, according to authorities.
Video shows the bear precariously sniffing a tree. Officials say the whereabouts of the bear is currently unknown and there have been no other sightings or reports overnight.

Police are urging anyone who sees the bear to report it to their Communications Division at 617-479-1212, even if the bear is seen in a remote area.
