Man accused of vandalizing Salem’s ‘Bewitched’ statue with red paint

The landmark pays tribute to the classic sitcom and the filming of its seventh season in the Witch City.

SALEM, Mass. — A Salem landmark was found covered in red paint on Monday.

The “Bewitched” statue, which depicts the sitcom’s star Elizabeth Montgomery, pays tribute to the filming of its seventh season in Salem. The statue sits at the corner of Essex and Washington streets.

Photos show the 6-foot-tall statue coated in red paint.

Salem Police say Kylynn Chambers, 32, who is homeless, was arrested and faces charges of defacing property, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

Chambers is set to be arraigned Tuesday.
