BOSTON — Summertime and the consumption of cheeseburgers go hand-in-hand, much like hot dogs and ice cream.
While it may be enjoyable to grill up a juicy patty over an open flame, sometimes the thrill rests in seeking out a new eatery that serves up a new style of burger that satisfies that insatiable craving.
Taste of Home recently compiled a list of the best cheeseburgers in every state.
Here are the best cheeseburger joints in New England, according to Taste of Home:
Massachusetts
- Bred, with two locations in Boston, is known as the “home of the smoked burger.”
Maine
- Fat Boy Drive-In, located in Brunswick, is an old-school burger joint that is only open during the warmer months, making it a must-stop for folks visiting Vacationland.
New Hampshire
- Lexie’s, with multiple locations in the Granite State including Exeter and Dover, preaches peace, love, and burgers. On the menu, customers will find everything from regular burgers to vegetable burgers to chicken burgers.
Vermont
Worthy Burger, located in South Royalton, focuses on farm-to-table food, but it also serves up some of the most delicious fries around.
