WEST YARMOUTH, Mass. — A woman was hit and killed by a car in West Yarmouth on Thursday afternoon. The accident happened at the intersection of Pine Cone Road and Rainbow Road around 2:30p.m. according to the Yarmouth Police Department.
The victim was transported to Cape Cod Hospital where she was pronounced dead. The driver of the vehicle involved in the accident stayed on scene and is cooperating with investigators.
The crash is being investigated by the Yarmouth Police Department, Cape Cod Regional Law Enforcement Accident Reconstruction Team and the Barnstable County Sherriff’s Department Bureau of Criminal Investigations.
The identity of the deceased victim is being withheld at this time.
