DA: Bourne man indicted on indecent assault charge after making sexual advances toward minors

BOURNE, Mass. — A grand jury indicted a man for allegedly making sexual advances toward two minors at a beach in Bourne on Monday afternoon.

Jeffrey Burgess, 60, of Bourne, was indicted on three counts of assault and battery, one count of indecent assault and battery on a child under 14, and two counts of enticing a child under 16.

Officers responding to the area of Electric Avenue Beach around 2 p.m. allege that Burgess approached two juvenile females and tried persuading them to go with him to a wooded area near the beach.

The Cape and Islands DA says Burgess touched both of the victims on their hands and arms and even touched one of the victims with his tongue.

He remains in custody and is being held on bail, according to authorities.
