Dorchester man arraigned after attempted kidnapping at a Roxbury elementary school

BOSTON — BOSTON - Charles Marriro of Dorchester, faced charges of kidnapping of a child and assault, in the Roxbury Division of Boston Municipal Court on Friday.

Boston Police arrested Marriro on Thursday in connection with an incident that occurred on December 15, where police responded to a call for an attempted kidnapping at the David A. Ellis Elementary School in Roxbury. Officials allege that Marriro approached three students at the school and grabbed one by the arm to pull the child away. Officials also allege that Marriro asked another child to play basketball with him.

Marriro is being held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing at a later date according to a release sent out by the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office.

Marriro’s dangerousness hearing is currently scheduled for December 29, 2021.
