Abington students back in class after bomb threat prompts evacuation

ABINGTON, Mass. — Police are investigating after bomb threats were discovered for Abington schools Monday morning.

According to Superintendent of Schools Peter Schafer, bomb threats were discovered Monday morning as high school students were arriving for the day.

Officials decided to evacuate the school and send high school students and staff to the Frolic School and middle school students to Beaver Brook Elementary School. PreK students had not yet arrived for the day.

The building was searched and deemed safe at approximately 9 a.m. Students returned to class.

Police are working to learn where the threat originated.
