AAA for effort; Trooper goes extra mile for stranded family

A Massachusetts state trooper is being recognized for going the extra mile for a family whose blown tire left them stranded on a local highway.

It happened on Friday. Trooper James Maloney from the Danver’s barracks came across a family with a shredded rear tire.

The driver’s son was on the way to help but was about an hour away, according to state police.

“The vehicle was on a sharp curve, it was beginning to get dark, and there were two young children in the car,” according to a post by State Police. “With all these factors considered Trooper Maloney decided to change the tire himself so the family could get on their way.”
