FAIRHAVEN, Mass — A 59-year-old Fairhaven man has died after a two-vehicle car crash near the intersection of Main and Hedge streets in Fairhaven.
Police responded to a report of a crash a little after 7 p.m. on Sunday.
George Thatcher, the driver was in a red Chevrolet sedan was driving south on Main Street when he crossed over the double yellow line into the northbound lane and struck a gray Toyota Rav4 being driven by a 36-year-old man, the DA said.
Thatcher was taken to Saint Luke’s Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased upon arrival at 7:22 pm.
Inside the Toyota was the driver, his 33-year-old wife, and his two young children, ages four and one. All four of them were taken to Saint Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford for treatment of minor injuries.
