3 victims killed in Sturbridge crash identified

STURBRIDGE, Mass. — State Police have identified three people who were killed in what appears to be a wrong-way crash on Route 84 in Sturbridge.

Troopers responded to reports of a crash at 6 p.m. Saturday involving a 2009 Nissan Murano traveling west in the eastbound lanes of Route 84 prior to Exit 6B in Sturbridge, state police said. The Nissan struck a 2011 Volvo XC60 traveling east on the eastbound side.

Killed in the crash were the driver of the Nissan, identified as Deyja Jackson, 40, of Worcester, and the driver and a passenger in the Volvo, identified as Irene Karam, 83, of Manchester, N.H. and Patricia Knauer, 62, of Deland, Fla. respectively.

The crash remains under investigation.
