3 Massachusetts women claim $1M lottery prizes

BOSTON — Three women from Massachusetts recently claimed $1 million lottery prizes.

Davena Allen, of Dorchester, won a $1 million Mega Millions prize after the first five numbers on her ticket matched those selected in the multi-state game’s drawing held Jan. 10, according to the Massachusetts State Lottery Commission.

Allen purchased her winning ticket at Wegmans in Chestnut Hill. The store receives a $10,000 bonus for its sale of this ticket.

She has multiple plans for her winnings, including paying for her daughter’s college, paying off her own college loans, and buying her dad a truck, the Lottery said.

Edna Soares, of New Bedford, chose the cash option on her “Emeralds 50X” instant ticket game prize and received a one-time payment of $650,000.

Soares purchased her winning ticket at Golden Food Mart in Fall River. The store will receive a $10,000 bonus for its sale of this ticket.

Lisa Coash, of Marshfield, chose the cash option on her “Electric 7″ instant ticket game prize and received a one-time payment of $650,000.

She plans on using some of her winnings to go on a vacation, according to the Lottery.

Coash purchased her winning ticket at Muckey’s Supermart in Pembroke. The store will receive a $10,000 bonus for its sale of this ticket.
