SWANSEA, Mass. — A 17-year-old driver was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Swansea late Friday night, according to Chief Marc Haslam.
Just before 11:30 p.m., Swansea police received several 911 calls reporting a crash in the area of 171 Marvel Street.
Upon arrival, officers located a Ford Fusion that had left the roadway and struck a fire hydrant and utility pole.
The driver, identified as Ethan Kielec, 17, of Swansea, was pronounced dead at the scene. A 17-year-old passenger was transported to an area hospital to be treated for their injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
