REVERE, Mass. — One person has died after an overnight fire in a triple-decker home on Thornton Street, fire officials said.

The fire started sometime after midnight Tuesday in the multi-family home at 54 Thornton St and flames shooting from the top of the building were still visible just after 5 a.m.

Revere fire officials said one person died in the fire and two others were rescued.

A man who said he lives in the basement of the home told Boston 25 through a translator that a young girl who appeared to have some burns on her face jumped off of the second story in a panic as people tried to calm her. He said he believes she has minor injuries.
