ABOVE EARTH — Three astronauts, including a Massachusetts native, are settling in on the International Space Station where they’ll spend the next four months.

A Soyuz capsule carrying the astronauts blasted off on a two-day trip to the ISS early Sunday morning from Russia’s space launch center in Kazakhstan.
This is the first space flight for Tingle and Kanai, of Japan.

On-board the capsule was Anton Shkaplerov, Norishige Kanai and Scott Tingle, of Randolph.

Shkaplerov is now on his third mission to the ISS.
The capsule docked with the ISS Tuesday morning.
The astronauts will join Russia's Alexander Misurkin and Joe Acaba and Mark Vandde Hei of NASA, who have been aboard since September.
Tingle graduated from the Blue Hills Regional Technical School in Canton.
He’s a married father of three and became an astronaut in 2011.
He has family in Massachusetts and spoke with them from high above Earth on Tuesday morning.
"We made it," he told his family. "We had a really great flight up here and we miss you guys already. (I) hope you're having a great time in Moscow and getting ready to wrap it up and head back home and get to work."
