SHARON (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) – Emergency crews from Sharon jumped into action over the weekend to save a stranded kayaker.
The 911 call came in around 3:30 p.m. Sunday.
A kayaker was in need of help when he started taking on water right in the middle of Lake Massapoag.
The Sharon Fire Department had just taken their rescue jet ski out of storage days earlier.
The kayaker was OK and did have a life jacket.
The firefighter who rescued him was a rookie who just completed his water rescue training a week before.
