BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) -- A Massachusetts State trooper and his K-9 are credited with helping seize 100 lbs. of marijuana from a passenger at Logan Airport.
On Wednesday, Authorities were alerted that a passenger flying in from San Francisco would be carrying a large amount of the drug.
The flight landed around 5 p.m., and troopers watched 31-year-old Trang Pham, of San Jose exit the plane. Trooper Eric Pecjo of the State Police Troop F K9 Section and his Belgian Malinois, “Zeva,” were brought in to assist with the investigation.
After questioning Pham, officials were able to obtain a warrant to search two suitcases he checked onto the flight.
Officers located approximately 100 lbs. of marijuana inside the suitcases, packaged in heat-sealed plastic wrap.
Pham was charged with trafficking in marijuana and was arraigned Thursday in the East Boston District Court.
