Jury set for Mass. trial in 2009 fatal fire

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (AP) - Jury selection has been completed for the trial of a Northampton man charged with setting a fire that killed two men in December 2009.

The Northwestern District Attorney's office says Wednesday that all 16 jurors have been picked for Anthony Baye's trial in Hampden Superior Court in Springfield.

Opening statements from prosecution and defense lawyers are scheduled Thursday morning, followed by jury visits to scenes related to the case. Testimony expected to start Friday morning.

Judge Constance Sweeney moved the trial out of Northampton.

Twenty-eight-year-old Baye has pleaded not guilty to the charges that include arson and murder. Prosecutors say he set 15 fires on Dec. 27, 2009, including a house fire that killed 81-year-old Paul Yeskie Sr. and his son, 39-year-old Paul Yeskie Jr.
