BLOOMFIELD HILLS, Mich. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Their story went viral: Three Michigan siblings ordered by a judge to a juvenile detention facility until they were 18 years old for refusing to visit their father.
Last month, Oakland County Circuit Judge Lisa Gorcyca held the three Tsimhoni siblings, ages 14, 10 and 9, in contempt of court for refusing to apologize or participate in visitation with their father.
According to news reports, the older son said the reason he refused to see his father is because he is violent, and he witnessed his father hitting his mother. The judge compared the oldest boy to Charlie Manson, saying he was trying to brainwash his siblings.

The children were reportedly not allowed visitation from their mother or other family members.
After their story picked up national attention, the judge began an emergency court hearing on Friday with an eight-minute prepared statement justifying her decision, according to FOX 2 Detroit, and blamed the media for creating a frenzy.
After the children's mother, Maya Tsimhoni, said she disagreed with the judge's decision to send the children to a juvenile detention facility, Judge Gorcyca agreed to release the children, and send them to a summer camp and counseling instead.
It is unclear what will happen to the children after they finish camp.
