JFK Library museum open for free on Wednesday in honor of George H.W. Bush

BOSTON — In honor of President George H.W. Bush, the museum at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library will offer free admission to visitors on Wednesday. Bush, the 41st president of the United States, died Friday night at his Texas home at the age of 94.

On Wednesday, a state funeral will be held for the former president and many Americans will observe a National Day of Mourning in his honor.

“On this national day of mourning, we invite the community to join us at the Kennedy Library in honor of President George H.W. Bush,” said Alan Price, director of the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum. “Here, overlooking the sea loved by both Presidents Bush and Kennedy, and just a few miles from their birthplaces, we offer a space to gather and reflect upon the office of the presidency and our values as a democracy."

The John F. Kennedy Presidential Library will be closed due to the National Day of Mourning, but the museum will be open and free.

The JFK Library said condolence books will be available at the museum for visitors to sign and leave reflections.
