WOBURN, Mass. — A man has been indicted for the death of a Cambridge teen who was shoved to the ground and hit her head in 2018, according to the Middlesex County District Attorney's Office.
Isaias Plaza has been charged with manslaughter and assault and battery, according to the indictment.
Richelle Robinson, 15, was walking down Cambridge Street on July 22, 2018, when she was apparently assaulted and pushed to the ground, police told Boston 25 News last summer. Robinson hit her head and later died from her injuries.
Police say Plaza and Robinson knew each other, but that Plaza and his girlfriend had a falling out with Robinson and her friends in the weeks before the assault.
Robinson was a student at Cambridge Ringe and Latin School. She died a day after the assault at Massachusetts General Hospital.
Family and friends of Robinson wore buttons with her face on it to Plaza's arraignment.
Plaza has been ordered held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing. He is due back in court on August 13.
