SOMERVILLE, Mass. — The man accused of assaulting an Uber driver and stealing his car apologized Monday, hours after his arraignment on the charges.
But he says he’s not the only one in the wrong.
In an interview with FOX25 at his Lynn home, 33-year-old Nick Fabrizio apologized to the Uber driver he’s accused of assaulting after a Saturday night out with friends in Boston.
Fabrizio was released in bail after facing assault and battery and carjacking charges in court.
Medford police say he punched Uber driver Pierre Francois and stole his car after Francois kicked his group of the car for being rowdy.
“I wish I could go back. It was a really bad 30 to 45 seconds of decision making. I’ll tell you that,” Fabrizio said.
He said his group was “absolutely not” rowdy or dangerous.
Medford police say the driver suffered cuts and bruises to his face.
Fabrizio posted the $1,000 bail and is due back in court on April 26.
