WORCESTER, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Quinsigamond Community College in Worcester placed its police chief on leave for 6 weeks after his wife was caught up in criminal investigation at the Bridgewater State University daycare.
The horrifying allegations that a college student sexually abused children at the Bridgewater State campus daycare publicly surfaced in March.
BSU police arrested Kyle Loughlin, who worked at the daycare, for the rape of two young children.
Immediately, questions began swirling about when the allegations were first reported to the director of the daycare, Judith Ritacco. The school began investigating Ritacco's role, and so did police.
Less than two weeks later, Bridgewater State fired Ritacco and police arrested her for allegedly not fulfilling her duties as a mandatory reporter.
FOX25 first reported in April that Ritacco's husband Kevin was put on leave from his job after he allegedly refused to tell investigators where his wife was when they came to question her.
Kevin Ritacco is the Chief of Police at Quinsingamond Community College. On Tuesday, a college spokesperson told FOX25 they were looking to determine to what extent he was aware of the allegations at BSU.
"To date we have found nothing that would raise sufficient concerns," a statement from the college read. "The college has completed its due diligence and has determined that it is in the best interest of its community to reinstate full chief of police responsibilities and state conveyed police powers to Chief Ritacco."
QCC reinstated Ritacco on Monday. He faces no criminal charges.
Judith Ritacco is expected back in court for a hearing in July. Student Kyle Loughlin is due back in court in June.
