BOSTON — A Massachusetts state house committee is expected to vote on distracted driving legislation Wednesday.
The joint committee on transportation will vote on whether to give two separate bills favorable recommendations.
The bills would both outlaw all use of a phone behind the wheel unless it is set to hands-free mode.
Current state law bans only texting and other electronic messaging.
Similar legislation passed in the senate the past two legislative sessions, but stalled in the house.
