FRAMINGHAM (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) – Police in Framingham are still trying to figure out how a man ended up seriously injured in the middle of a neighborhood street.
Police have identified the victim as Nick Russo, of Hopkinton. He's in serious condition as police work to piece together what happened.
The 21-year-old was discovered lying face down just after 2 p.m. Tuesday near the intersection of Elda and Eleanor streets. He had a huge gash in his head and was flown to Boston Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
The man who found him didn't want to show his face on camera, but did describe for FOX 25 the moment he found him.
Russo worked as a cook at Ruby Tuesday, which is about a mile from where he was found in the road.
Police say it is unknown at this time if the victim was struck by a vehicle or physically assaulted at the scene or at another location.
Neighbors in the area say they saw a suspicious car in the area before Russo was found. The vehicle was tan and had two people inside.
The Framingham Police Department is following several leads in the investigation. Anyone with information is urged to call police at 508-532-5924.
