MARION, Mass. — A groom’s mid-vow joke was punctuated by the heavens over the weekend and it was, thankfully, caught on camera.
An outdoor wedding in Marion, Massachusetts, was a small refuge for the couple from the besieged world of the past eight months.
“Let’s face it, 2020 has not been the best year,” groom Aaron Sawitsky said in his vows.
The crowd begins to laugh along with the bride when, suddenly, a massive bolt of lightning strikes just across the lake directly behind the couple. Of course, it was followed by a tremendous sound of thunder, which brought the laughter to a halt.
The couple continued with the wedding and noted that “thankfully, no one got electrocuted.”
The wedding was over before the rain started to fall, but, thankfully, the moment that nature got in on the joke was captured forever.
