BOSTON — Boston 25 News Anchor Kerry Kavanaugh sat down with Dr. Erica Shenoy, an infectious disease physician at Massachusetts General Hospital, for a frank discussion about why Massachusetts residents should listen to the guidance about holiday gatherings this week.

Shenoy agreed it’s frustrating to miss out on family traditions, but talked about the true risk of transmission while eating together with loved ones. She told Kavanaugh about the biggest concerns facing local hospitals as they see more and more patients in the ICU. Shenoy also discussed the potential for a false sense of security from getting tested in advance of Thanksgiving.
