DENNIS, Mass. — Add one more voice to a growing chorus of Cape Cod residents who feel they are being overlooked when it comes to getting a mass vaccination site.
“We have over 27,000 adults over the age of 75 who need access to a vaccine,” said state Sen. Julian Cyr, who represents Cape Cod. “But we are really concerned in this crucial part of the vaccine rollout Cape Codders are being left out.”
Hundreds of his constituents have reached out to Cyr. He says they are frustrated and angry. Among them is Allen Tuttle of Dennis who is 84 years old. He says many of his friends feel the same way.
He has been trying nonstop to get an appointment for his wife.

“I’ve talked to so many people that are beside themselves,” said Tuttle.
“I don’t know how many times I’ve gone online (at) midnight, one, two, three in the morning with no luck whatsoever,” said Tuttle.
Cyr said it’s crucial that the 75 plus age group be vaccinated.
“We need a large scale vaccination site and we’re trying to figure out how could make that happen now that it appears the state’s not going to support us,” Cyr said.
Cyr said they still hope the state steps up but if not they are making plans.
“We are ready to go whether through the county or our health care partners but we’re just not getting any supply of vaccine,” Cyr said.
Once that supply is more consistent, he said health care works on the Cape can reach out to the most vulnerable to make sure that get their vaccination.
