HAVERHILL, Mass. — Haverhill Police caught two package thieves in the act all thanks to an alert neighbor.
In a Christmas carol themed release posted to the station's Facebook account, police give an extra special mention to the watchful neighbor who made sure the thieves did not get away with someone else's gifts.
The neighbor told police he saw the two men taking packages from a home, and proceeded to follow them as he contacted the authorities.
Soon, several cruisers and eight other policemen helped handcuff the two men and safely return the packages to their designated home.
Officer Cooper was the first one to respond to the scene, and followed the thieves' tracks as he requested for back-up and alerted other officers of his location.
