CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — Service at Harvard Square station has resumed.
The Cambridge fire Department tweeted on Sunday evening that the cause for the station shutdown was the release of pepper spray in the ramp between train levels.
Thankfully, the station's exhaust system ventilated the area quickly.
Several people were evaluated but no injuries were reported and no one needed to be transported.
The Harvard Square MBTA station has been shut down due to fire department activity.
The Red Line train service and Bus routes 71, 72, 73, 74, 75, 77, 78, 86, & 96: service to Harvard Station are suspended until further notice.
