(MyFoxBoston.com) -- As the Supreme Court heard arguments on Proposition 8 and California's ban on gay marriage, the photo of a red square with a pink equal sign was shared and posted by thousands of social media users.
The avatar was designed by the Human Rights Campaign, a civil rights organization for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered Americans, to show their support for gay marriage. The photo changed the organization's traditional emblem and asked supporters to wear red Tuesday.
The organization shared this photo on their Facebook page on Monday afternoon. The posts collectively have 108,955 'shares' and 30,779 'likes'.
