FRAMINGHAM, Mass. — A faculty member at Framingham High School is at the center of a police investigation.
Band director Brian Cervone has been well respected for the last 10 years, but now he is facing charges of attempted kidnapping and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
“I heard he's a good guy. He means well. But lately it's been creepy stuff,” FHS student Jason Shapiro said.
FOX25 has learned the 34-year-old teacher had a relationship with a former student for the last five years. In April things got messy at his Worcester home.
“[She was] basically making his life miserable because he was trying to pursue another dating relationship,” defense attorney Mike Erlich said.
Court documents obtained by FOX25 show that Cervone is accused of picking the woman up and throwing her against a wall in April. He’s also accused of slamming a door on her arm and leg.
School officials won’t release any further information about the investigation, but say student safety has not been compromised “as these allegations do not involve any current Framingham students.”

The 24-year-old woman told Worcester police Cervone pushed her 6-year-old son into the bushes. She filed a restraining order against him and he was arrested last week.
“She attacked him numerous times. She grabbed him. If anything he tried to keep her away from him,” Erlich said. “He's been a music instructor at the school for 11 years. She essentially destroyed his life and I'm not going to let that happen.”
Police are trying to determine if Cervone had relationships with any other Framingham students during his time at the school.
