The latest flu numbers for Massachusetts show a slight decrease since last week - but compared to last year, the numbers are still very high.
The new flu map shows the outer Metro Boston area has decreased from 'high' activity to more moderate activity, but most of the state is still in the 'high' zone.
So far this season, there have been more than 10,000 flu cases - compared to 3,000 cases last year; a 228 percent increase.
Doctors recommend you keep alcohol-based hand sanitizer with you.
With school vacation coming up, some are concerned about traveling.
Some ask if they should bring a mask while traveling. Mass. General Hospital Dr. Ali Raja says washing your hands is even better than wearing a mask.
"There's not evidence that says wearing a mask on a plane will keep you from getting the flu," said Raja.
Doctors say planes themselves, aren't necessarily the worst place for germs.
"Airplanes have pretty good air filters. So as long as the ventilation system is on, you're going to be OK," said Raja.

Doctors say it's also important to stay hydrated on the plane - and avoid caffeine and alcohol because that keeps your mucus membranes wet, which are the best line of defense against germs.
