Fireworks seen as possible cause of 2-home blaze in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (AP) — A Springfield fire official says a blaze that destroyed two homes may have been caused by fireworks.

Dennis Leger, an aide to Springfield's fire commissioner, told the Boston Herald (http://bit.ly/15hpf3S ) that there is a good possibility the early Wednesday morning fire was caused by fireworks. He says the cause has not been determined.

Leger says that at the least the fire is suspicious.

The fire burned two homes to the ground, displaced 15 residents and several pets and destroyed one vehicle.
