LYNN, Mass. — Fire crews worked to contain a 2-alarm fire on Birch Street early Thursday morning.
The fire started around 4 a.m. in a multifamily home, Lynn Fire Chief Stephen Archer said. Two people had to be rescued from the roof and at least 9 people have been displaced. No injuries were reported.

Flames were seen in the attic area more than an hour after the fire started.
Fire officials have ruled the cause of the fire as accidental.
