BOSTON — Boston firefighters responded to a 2-alarm fire at a 12-story building in downtown Wednesday afternoon.

Boston Fire Dept. says it responded to 245 Summer Street at approximately 12:14 p.m. for a smoke alarm activation. Firefighters confirmed a fire upon arrival and ordered a second alarm.

The fire was contained to an electrical vault in the building's basement. Smoke inside the building is being ventilated and Eversource has been contacted to shut down power to the vault.

The 12-story building is home to Fidelity Investments.

Firefighters say the building was safely evacuated. One firefighter was transported with non-life threatening injuries.
