(MyFoxBoston.com) -- A ferry on its way from Provincetown to Boston was disabled five miles off of Scituate, the Coast Guard said on Wednesday.
The Provincetown IV, owned by the Bay State Cruise Company, was disabled Wednesday afternoon after a large wave hit it. There were 42 passengers on the boat.
Its sister ferry was sent to tow the disabled ferry back to Boston, but the Provincetown IV's starboard engine began to run, and it slowly started chugging back towards Boston. The ferry returned to Boston Harbor at around 7:15 p.m. The Coast Guard had two "assets" on the scene assisting.
The captain was taken from the ferry by ambulance to the hospital to be treated for an injured hand.
