Father of Acton triple stabbing suspect dies from his injuries

ACTON, Mass. — The father of a man accused of stabbing both his parents and his girlfriend has died as a result of injuries sustained during the stabbing.

John DiCristina, 57, of Acton, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 9, five days after an altercation with his son, Benjamin DiCristina, 25.

The 25-year-old was arrested and accused of stabbing his mother, father, girlfriend in their home late Thursday night.

He allegedly stabbed all three with a pair of scissors, leaving his 57-year-old father with life-threatening injuries.

Benjamin DiCristina was arraigned Friday, Oct. 5 on two counts of armed assault with intent to murder, two counts of assault and battery causing serious bodily injury, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, domestic assault and battery and strangulation in connection with stabbing his parents and his 28-year-old girlfriend.

The investigation into this incident is active and Benjamin could be facing additional charges as the investigation develops.

He is currently being held without bail and has been ordered to undergo a mental health evaluation. A status hearing has been scheduled for Oct. 25.
