A century since her father was born, Caroline Kennedy shares her memories of President John F. Kennedy, including some of the more intimate moments.

“May 29th would be my father's 100th birthday. I've thought about him and missed him every day of my life. I remember hiding underneath my father's Oval Office desk when I was little and sitting on his lap on the Honey Fitz,” said Kennedy.

But it's also his life in public office, his accomplishments, that define him to her.

“President Kennedy inspired a generation that transformed America. They marched for justice. They served in the peace corps, in the inner cities and outer space.”

His legacy still fresh in the minds of those are old enough to remember his days in office.

“He was such a great hope. We loved him. He was young. He was one of us. Especially in Massachusetts. Over here, he was a legend.”

Among the youth he continues to inspire, his own grandchildren, who've learned about him only through their studies and stories from relatives.

"One of the defining relationships in my life is with someone I’ve never met, my grandfather, President John F. Kennedy,” said Tatiana Kennedy Schlossberg.

And now, 100 years later, the Kennedy’s draw strength, not only from those who've kept JFK in their hearts, but also those committed to making the world better, following his lead.

“As his family, we're so proud of what my father stood for during his life and how powerful those values remain today,” said Kennedy.
