Family members say fatal stabbing victim was targeted on Facebook

BOSTON (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) At a vigil on Wednesday, family members of a slain 15-year-old boy from Roxbury say the teen was targeted by gang members on a social network.

Loved ones say Lance Hartgrove was threatened on Facebook before he was fatally stabbed in Roxbury on Tuesday.

Gang members allegedly posted on Hartgrove's Facebook account, saying they were going to shoot and kill him.

According to family members, Hartgrove was on his way home when gang members followed him. Hartgrove was one of three people stabbed behind the Social Security office on Malcolm X Boulevard Tuesday.

An 18-year-old man identified as Rula Jones was arrested near the scene of the stabbing. He is being held on $100,000 bail on warrants unrelated to the stabbing.
